DogStars Blog - January 2009

Hello everyone,

Last night was the first of a 6 week class for puppies at Pup Culture Daycare in Burnaby BC. The class had 4 attendees and the puppies were in great moods! What we covered last night was an introduction to some basic commands - Sit, Come and walking nicely on leash. The puppies: Tia - American Bulldog (3 months old), Jack - Bichon (3 months old), Winston - French Bulldog (3 months old0 and Sam - Beagle (3 months old) - all were trying listening to thier owners perhaps for the first time with other puppies around. There were some moments of superb focus for their first class that is encouraging.

Half way through the class we had positive puppy play -fun for all with a few guidelines. No humping, barking or excessive roughness. All pups played very well together!

Next weeks class will be covering the down command and more walking!

All classes are taught with positive reinforcement and praise!

Until next time - I will see you then!
